Dean Gurtler
Owner, Operations & Certified Master Technician

Dean has always loved to tinker with vehicles.  Whether it was converting 1962 Willy’s Jeep or a completely off the wall Toyota 4x4 rig, he’s always loved to see what he could do to make the ordinary a little extraordinary.

Originally a small town boy, Dean has years of experience in working on all kinds of machinery.  Dean was born and raised in Manning, Alberta.  He graduated from Paul Rowe High School with honors in 1990.

Dean is a 1992 SAIT Automotive Service Technician (AST) graduate.  He graduated with honors at the top of his class and immediately went to work for one of the leading import dealerships in Calgary.  There he achieved his certified Master Technician status and took on increasingly responsible roles as Group Leader and then Shop Foreman.

Pro-Active Automotive was originally established in 2004 by Dean and Dori Gurtler.  

Dean and Dori own and operate Pro-Active Automotive as a partnership. They recently bought out their partner and are now sole owners.

Dean is a huge outdoor enthusiast.  He loves 4x4ing, dirt biking, fishing and camping.   He and Dori, live on an acreage on the outskirts of Calgary with their 13 year old son Reece.
